Teams and Delegation
Teams group your Teammates. Delegation links say who hands work to whom, and who asks whom.
A Team is a named list of Teammates: Marketing, Client X, Research. A Teammate can belong to several Teams. Teams are how you organize the canvas and how you share a set of Teammates. They don’t change what a Teammate can do: that’s set by its Access and its links.
Two links, two gestures
Section titled “Two links, two gestures”You draw each link on the Teams canvas. A model never invents one.
Delegate — solid line on the canvas. The Teammate hands part of its Project to another one. The delegate opens its own sub-Project, with its own Activity, and may write in the Library. Use it when the other Teammate owns that part of the work.
Consult — dotted line on the canvas. The Teammate asks another one a question and waits for the answer, in the same Project. The consulted Teammate reads but never writes. Use it for an opinion, a fact, a piece of expertise.
Ask yourself: should the other Teammate produce something, or just tell me something? Produce: Delegate. Tell: Consult.
What you see
Section titled “What you see”Delegates and consultations show in the Project’s Activity, and their cost in its Usage. Stopping the Project stops them all. Delegation can’t loop.
Add a Teammate when a responsibility is clearly someone else’s job, not to go faster.
